One of the business you can start in the Philippines is selling siomai. You can franchise this kind of business at affordable price starts at P25,000 depending on the franchise fee. I think two of the best selling siomai in the Philippines is the Master Siomai and Siomai House on my own opinion. But franchising on these two needed high capital. If you have low budget you can start with a very low capital P400 – P500 for half kilo of pork meat and ingredients. First thing is you need to know how to prepare and cook siomai.
1 pack molo wrapper
250 grams ground pork
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black ground pepper
1 tablespoon knorr seasoning
8 cloves garlic,minced
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrots, finely chopped
5 stems spring onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Combine and mix all the ingredients salt, pepper, liquid seasoning, minced garlic, onion, carrots, spring onion, egg, brown sugar, flour and cornstarch in a bowl.
- Wrap the mix ingredients in molo wrapper by placing about 1 tbsp of the mixture in the center of the molo wrapper then press all the sides around to the middle leaving an open space on top.
- Place all the wrapped siomai in the steamer.
- Steam for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve hot with kikkoman soy sauce and calamansi or lemon dip.
Enjoy cooking and eating!!
